Rohitkumar Hargovindbhai Patel has joined with the Department of Maritime Studies since 2023. He joined as Associate professor and is serving as Programme Head - Marine.
He did his BS (Marine Engineering) from Tolani Maritime Institute, 1999-2003 batch. He got selected in Thome Ship Management,a reputed Ship Management company, as Junior Engineer and rose to rank of Chief Engineer in same company. He has sailed on foreign going ships in different capacities till now for a period of 19 years. He is specialized to work on Oil Tankers and worked as Chief Engineer on such ships for over 9 years.
He is awarded with shipping licenses of international recognition, commonly known as Certificate of Competency ( COC) as Marine Engineer Officer ( MEO ) Class IV , MEO CL II and MEO CL I.
